Case Study – Retail M and A

A large international fashion brand had licensed out their US business to a 3rd party for several years but they had struggled to deliver the planned growth and were making a significant annual loss. As part of the turnaround plan, the retailer looked to buy back the rights to the market and integrate the operation into the rest of the organisation.

We were involved in defining the target operating model and working in partnership with both the US licensee and the brand’s internal departments to determine and implement interim and final operating model end states, costs and benefits case, transition timings and how to move the operations between the entities.

This included working with 3rd parties to support interim operations whilst long term infrastructure was established. Operational areas involved included logistics, customer services, wholesale sales, finance, HR, retail, ecommrce and legal.

The project was completed on time and in budget with no negative impact on the consumer experience, help to set a platform for future growth.
